STRIUM (sign).png

During the Estonian hackathon/makeathon "Garage 48" in 2021 me and Mihkel Putrins created this experimental instrument based on the idea of using only wood and certain measurements to achieve the note A. The result turned out to be very different than what we were expecting (we didn't get an A out of it), but instead we managed to create an instrument that produced several other tones with the character of a deep contra bass or even the horn of a large ship in the distance.

The STRIUM is made of 100% wood and has several "tounges" of differing lengths that are played with a bow.
